How to change the message on the XP logon dialog box ?

By default, the logon dialog box says “Enter a user name and password that is valid for this system.” But you can make it say whatever you want, by editing the registry. As always, be careful and back up your registry first. Then here’s how:

• In your registry editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon
• In the right pane, double click an empty spot and choose New. Create a new REG_SZ (String) value and name it LogonPrompt.
• Double click it and in the data value field, type whatever message you want to display.

Apple Releases iPhone 3G !!!

WOW !!! How do these guyz manage to do it EVERY damn time !! I just don’t get it !! They manage to get toooo much attention for everything they do… For eg: What is so big about another iPhone V2 in this case, Old wine in new bottle, its like a SP2 for a Windows OS…… No I’m not a member of “Apple Hate Club”, I was just trying to analyze whether its worth buying or upgrading !!! At this point I don’t know… Apple fans will always find a reason to buy anything released by apple. …

Its like this …. I just love playing computer games !!! I have a nVidia 8900 GTX, Do I need a 9800 GTX, NO, But I’ll still upgrade, Is it worth 36K ?? No, But I still will upgrade. Will it really make a difference to the way I play or experience games???? Not really, But I still will upgrade !!!!

My Vista x64 Experience !!

Any blog I read, anyone’s signature I check, Any “nerds” I ask they all freaking have installed Vista x64… What is so special about x64…. I wanted to try !!!

I started the installation @ 10:00 AM. It took me 2hrs 25 mins to complete the installation on a Pentium D 2:00 GHz proc with 2 GB DDR2 Memory. Strange, the Vista 32 Bit takes 35 mins flat … even with a 1 GB memory??? I tried Windows Update – No success, tried installing SP1, Nope, whenever I try to close any window, the problem reporting comesup, tried many many options !! Nope… nothing worked…

After spending over 10 hrs trying to figureout how to fix it… I’m tired and am going on to Server 2008 x64…. I’ll write about it at a later time !!!

nVidia releases GeForce 9800 GTX !!!

Today will see the official launch of the GeForce 9800 GTX as the third member of the GeForce 9 series. Already we have seen the GeForce 9600 GT performing in the mainstream sector, the 9800 GX2 aimed at the high-end $500+ market, and now the 9800 GTX which sits right in-between. There is also a GeForce 9800 GTS on the way, but we will leave that for another occasion

Set Multiple web-pages as Home page for Browser !!

I was quite surprised with the amount of time I had to spend remembering & opening the pages I wanted whenever I open Firefox/IE. I accidentally discovered that I could set multiple pages to open whenever I open my browser.

• Open the Internet Properties / Options ( under firefox)
• Type the URL’s you want separated by “|” pipe symbol.
• Save; Exit and Restart and try

In IE 8: You can enter the URL’s directly 1 below the other.
